Wonki Ware has grown from a small studio in George, South Africa to a worldwide recognised brand that employs people from disadvantaged backgrounds, allowing them to better themselves by learning new skills to create beautiful ceramic pieces. Wonki Ware’s pieces are all delicately handmade, pressed with lace and painted to create mugs, bowls, plates and platters that are individual and beautiful and each with their own back story. Capturing the warm spirit of Africa, Wonki Ware is a product that was developed purely by chance, from a small team of 3 to now employing 70 people, it has transformed communities whilst growing from strength to strength, but its core values are the same – passion, creativity and a love for pattern and design.
